Well, at 2pm today, Saturday 22nd October, we’ll have been Occupying Norwich for one whole entire week!
We’ve had literally hundreds of people involved, dedicated folks who’ve slept out in the freezing cold every single night, devoted to this cause, and more still supporting what we’re doing from across the globe, and we’re not finished yet!
The itinery for today is as follows:
11am - March of solidarity with ‘Hardest Hit Norfolk Coalition of Disabled People’ (NCoD).
2pm - General Assembly
3pm - Musicians coming for a massive jam!!
Come on down to the Haymarket, Norwich, and see what it’s all about! We’re friendly, we’re celebrating, and we’d love for you to join us!
So much has happened over the past week it’s really hard to update you with everything here, but the great news is we now have a Forum, and a proper Website where you can find information and images from the site.
There is a really positive vibe coming out of this local ‘branch’ of the Occupy movement, we’re getting pretty organised, we have a number of tents, gazebos and a kitchen area. We’ve been given donations of food by many kind people, there has been media interest and a few of our guys have been speaking about ON on BBC Radio Norfolk, as well as making the front page of the Evening News!
Much of the decision-making has been taking place by the folks down at the Haymarket, as well as online via the Facebook group.
Tomorrow marks the anniversary of our first week Occupying Norwich, and we’ve got plans!
More to follow!
